Cory Schmitt is a reliable, self-driven, and articulate audio engineer in the music and film industry.

In a live sound environment, he has completed over 3,200 hours of work, from senior recitals to touring operas.

 

For studio recording, he has completed dozens of recording sessions for local bands from Pop to Prog Rock.

In addition, he plays drums as a member of the Bloomington band "Syzygy", playing queercore (indie/punk) music around Indiana and Illinois. This experience has led him to establish himself as a driving force in the local music scene, both as a musician and recording engineer.

Through professional podcast work and filmmaking experience, he also has a plethora of knowledge and experience in the film industry, specifically in the audio sector. 

 

He graduated from Indiana University in May of 2024 with a Bachelor's of Science in Audio Engineering and Sound Production from the Jacob's School of Music. Within the degree, he also completed a concentration in Cinema and Media Production.
